Sunday is the day when the whole ‘church family’ meets together to listen and learn from God’s word and worship Him with singing and prayer.
Whether you are looking for a church to join, or just visiting, you are welcome to join us on Sundays, 10am - 11:30am at 9 Endeavour Avenue, Margate.
What to expect
On arrival you’ll be welcomed by a friendly face who can help you with any questions, or directions, you need. You are welcome to grab a hot drink before we start.
A typical service will begin with a song and a brief announcement from the service leader about what’s coming up. A few more songs are sung, followed by a time of quiet, personal prayer of confession. There is a Bible reading and children’s talk which will explain the passage and its main idea, before the children can head out for our children’s programs. The pastor gives a 20 minute talk explaining the Bible passage and applies it to our lives today. After the talk, we have a time of prayer in which anyone can pray aloud, led and closed by the service leader. This is a great time to pray about what we’ve just heard, the needs in our church family, wider community, and world. We finish with news and announcements regarding the church; our ‘giving ball’ is passed through the congregation for our members to contribute to, if they wish; followed by a closing song.
We share the Lord’s Supper once a month to celebrate the forgiveness that is ours through Jesus’ death and resurrection. This involves taking some bread from a shared loaf and an individual cup of grape juice which are passed through the congregation. Taking part in the Lords supper is entirely optional. Children are welcome to participate.
A typical Sunday gathering is around 80 minutes long. We have morning tea and a time of relaxed chat following the service, so stay and have a cuppa and chat if you can. Our service caters for young and old alike. Our music includes a mix of both older hymns and contemporary songs. Casual dress is fine, come as you are!
We have a crèche available for children from 0-3 years old. Our crèche is a place where our young children can play inside, or outside in our fenced off play area, read books and do a range of other activities in a relaxed environment.
We also have a Kids Church available for children in Kinder to Grade 3. Kids church follows a relaxed structure which includes listening to bible stories, singing, and various bible focused activities.
We have a minimum of two trained leaders with our crèche and Kids Church at all times. All leaders have their Working with Vulnerable People registration and also accredited with a certificate in ChildSafe training. We also cater for children who stay in the service with activity sheets, pencils and pens.
